Brain Dump

So many things have been going on lately. I keep thinking about blogging but then putting it off because I can't seem to get a handle on all of my different thoughts. I totally failed with my 5 for Five goals. I even failed to post on Monday! But I'm giving myself a pass seeing as it was my first day at a new job. So I'll update about that next Monday. And until then, enjoy a haphazard list of all the random thoughts bumping into each other in my head.

* My beloved iPod doesn't get used much. But it seems like every time I dig it out, the only thing I want to listen to is Dashboard Confessional. They are actually playing right now, no lie. Not only do I still love this band with every fiber of my being, but it also brings so many memories and feelings flooding back. Some good, some not good at all. But all of these memories are what shaped me into the person I am now.

* We sold our puppy last week. My cousin MK had gotten really attached to her. MK got to play with her every Monday evening. This past Monday was supposed to be her last time to play with the puppy. Well I let the new owners get Cricket (the puppy) early. And then I forgot to give my aunt a heads up. Poor MK was distraught when she found out the puppy she was happily awaiting was not showing up. I felt terrible!! So I put this little goodie basket together as an 'I'm sorry!' gift

* R is going to the deer lease this weekend. It is opening weekend for him so he is really hoping to shoot something. On top of him being gone, I am sending B to stay the night with her Nanna on Friday night. I'm planning on getting some quality 'me time' getting a manicure/pedicure. I'm pretty stinkin' pumped about it!! I hope the ladies at the nail salon don't get offended that I am bringing a book to read. I hardly ever do anything alone, I'm going to soak this alllll in :)

* I started my new job this week!! To say that I absolutely love it would be an understatement. I know it has only been 4 days, but I think that I can safely say this is the job I have been looking for since I graduated high school. I don't think there is a job I am better suited for (besides being a SAHM, but I try not to even think about that). My boss is stinkin' awesome. I only have a few coworkers and they are all very nice. The only way the environment could be more laid back is if I were wearing pajamas, seriously!

* I am leaving work in 30 minutes to take B to the pumpkin patch & then back to my mom's to carve pumpkins with the family! I'm so excited :) Of course, B won't get to help with the carving but I'm sure she'll have a good 'ole time playing in the backyard. Maybe I'll remember to take some pictures to share tomorrow. Don't hold your breath :)

Have a super Thursday, y'all!!

5 for Five - Week 1

FantasticallyAverage

I've really been looking forward to this link-up for a couple of weeks :) I don't have any goals from last week to update on, so I guess I will just start with my goals for this week.

I tried to think about what I wanted my goals to be over the weekend so that I would be prepared for this post, but I wasn't very successful. So I'm kinda flying by the seat of my pants. Here goes...

My goals this week are:

1. Get all of my clients caught up by Friday (my last day at my current job!). I don't want the girl taking over my clients to start off behind. This is my most important goal for this week.

2. Blog at least two more times. I am really trying to be better about writing a few times a week. My ultimate goal is to be able to delete my Facebook page and use my blog as an update for my far-away friends & relatives.

3. Get to work early for the rest of the week. I kinda blew it this morning, I was 15 minutes late (whoops!). I want to be early for the next four days.

4. Run at least twice. Good runs. At least 2.5 miles. I have been a super slacker since I 'ran' my 5k a few weeks ago. I need to get back on track so I can run the Turkey Trot next month. With a better time!

And finally...

5. Be intentional about spending quality time with R & B (ha! not the music, my husband and kiddo :)). We need more down time just enjoying each other and less time running around like crazy people or with our eyes glued to our phones/tv.

So there are my goals for the week. What are yours??

A Fish Fry & Larry's Trade Days

This weekend was pretty crazy around our house, at least for me! Somehow I still managed to get some housework done despite the fact that I was gone for the majority of the weekend.

On Friday I left work an hour early so that I would have time to change & grab dinner before heading out to the Hamshire-Fannett football game. R & I worked the concession stand with some other friends from church. It was a lot of fun but also a lot of work. I was exhausted when we were finally done!

I spent Saturday morning and early afternoon trying to get the house cleaned up a little. Around 2:30 B & I made our way over to my parent's house for a fish fry!! I'm not a big fan of fish, but as fish goes this stuff was pretty good.

Nevermind the fish, the most important part of the afternoon is these precious pictures!

Just a swangin'...

B absolutely loves her uncle Bryce. He was swinging her by her arm & her leg and she was juuuuust a laughing!

She hasn't quite gotten the hang of this yet...

More swinging with Nanna & Grammy. Look at that face! It cracks me up every time :)

After church on Sunday the women ditched the kids with the men & ran away for an afternoon of Larry's Trade Days in Winnie. In case you're not from around here, Trade Days is pretty much a big flea market that happens once a month. We love to go browse, especially in the month's leading up to Christmas! We spent the entire afternoon there since the weather was so nice. I can't wait to go back next month!!

I hope your weekend was as good as mine :) Happy Monday, y'all!

Fitness Friday

A Daily Dose of Davis is one of the first blogs I ever started reading. She inspired me to keep going with my own little blog & also to start running :) Now she hosts a link-up every Friday to talk about fitness goals, healthy eating, new workouts, etc. I'm totally pumped to link-up with her!

I started running with a friend about 3 months ago. We tried to go 3 times a week, but with little ones and full time jobs that didn't always happen. We tried our best to be consistant so that we would be able to run a 5k together.

Well, I ran my first 5k last weekend with a time of 38 min 18 seconds. I know this isn't a super fast time, but I am really proud of myself! The bad part is that I haven't been running since! So hopefully knowing that I will be linking up every Friday will help motivate me to have something to talk about, lol. I want to run another 5k on Thanksgiving & I am hoping to be closer to 30 minutes on that one.

I'm planning on going to our local gym to run in the mornings starting this coming Monday. Hopefully I will follow through!!

My husband is rewarding me with a new pair of running shoes! Any recommendations?! :)

I don't want to leave without letting y'all know about another link-up I'm looking forward to participating in starting in a little over a week. Jessica from Fantastically Average is hosting a link-up every Monday called 5 for Five. You are supposed to list 5 goals you are setting for yourself for the week. It always helps for me to have something to works towards, so I think this will be a good way to hold myself accountable.

That's about all I have for today. Have a great weekend! HAPPY FRIDAY! :)

A Big Change & A Puppy

I have been putting this post together in my head for a couple of weeks now. And I feel like it has to be a good one since it has been so long since I last posted. So much pressure! And honestly, I don't even know what to say.

Last week I accepted a position at a different accounting firm. I have been looking for a new job for a while now. I absolutely love the firm I work for, but the hours just haven't been working for me. Anyone who knows me even a little bit knows that I would give anything to be home with B. I never wanted a career, I have always wanted to stay at home with my kids. I am in no way motivated by corporate success or 'climbing the ladder'. Unfortunately, staying home has not been an option for me. But I knew that I did have the option to find a position that would give me a little bit more flexibility to be a better mom and homemaker.

While change is a little bit scary, especially when it includes something as big as my source of income, I am really looking forward to this change. I firmly believe that this move will make a huge difference in my life personally and in my family's life as a whole. I am really excited to get a fresh start with a new firm and see where it takes me. I will be moving from a firm with about 25 employees to a firm with 5 employees total. One perk I am really looking forward to is the casual dress code :) Hello blue jeans every day!

I feel like this post has a really serious tone to it... I need something to lighten the mood!

I guess the other big thing going on in our life right now (besides deer season opening soon, LOL!) is that our dogs (Astro & Aggie) had a puppy last month! Yes, just one puppy. Why just one? I have no idea. Anyway, she is absolutely beautiful and totally up for grabs. She is a full-bred Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) with an AKC registration. We are selling her for $400. Sheltie's are awesome family dogs. They are mild-tempered, only weigh about 15 pounds, playful & fun, and ridiculously smart. Seriously. They are known for their smarts. Sometimes I think mine are smarter than me!

Here are a couple pictures. I know they aren't great, but it was hard to get a good picture of her this morning, she wouldn't stay still!

You know you want to buy that sweet puppy! Tell all your friends :)

Have a great rest of the week, y'all!

Birthday Girl!

Brylee Paige -

Today is your 1st Birthday. The first of many to come. And I just can't believe that it is already here. I know it's cliche to say, but the last year has passed in a blur. You have grown up so much. The sweet, wrinkled, pink baby that came home from the hospital with us a year ago is now a walking (almost), jabbering, giggling, hard-headed toddler that I can't get enough of.

You are unlike any baby I have ever been around. And, believe me, I have been around a lot of babies! You are so brave, it amazes me every day. We went to the beach for the first time a couple days ago and you were fearless. I expected a little aprehension the first time you saw the waves. Or the first time you touched the sand. No fear. You immediately started crawling out into the ocean. Didn't stop for a second. I was in awe.

You are just about as hard-headed as it comes. I blame that on your Daddy. When Momma tells you 'No-No!' you shake your head back & forth but continue to do what you want. Even after a swat on the arm/leg you are not phased. I can see many battles in the future...

Your favorite things right now are music/dancing and phones. Whenever you hear a phone ring, or even for no reason sometimes, you will put your hand up to your ear like you are answering the phone. My heart melts every time. Whenever there is music playing you will bounce up & down with one or both of your hands in the air. It is the most precious thing I have ever seen. You love to dance!

You will eat pretty much anything, but when you get tired of it you spit it out. This really frustrates Momma! You are a great sleeper, taking two, sometimes three, naps a day and still sleeping all night. You are very healthy! Everyone told me I would have to take all my vacation staying home with you when you got sick, but you don't get sick!! I'm very proud of my healthy baby :)

You have been such an easygoing baby. I love you more than I ever thought possible. If you would just learn how to say 'Momma' my world would be complete :)

I love you, baby girl. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Love,

Momma

Friday Letters

I'm trying out a new link-up today. I have been absolutely terrible about blogging and it makes me sad :( I'm trying to be better! So here goes...

Dear Friday - Thank you for coming so soon! Apparently a holiday in the middle of the week splits things up nicely.

Dear Brylee - Please stop growing up so quickly!! I am not ready to plan a first birthday. I just want to snuggle you all day like I did when you were teeny-tiny. No more trying to walk or eating big people food. Deal?

Dear Husband - Thank you for being so awesome lately :) I'm looking forward to our puzzle dates. Have I mentioned that I am really excited about being able to do puzzles again??

Dear Pups - I am so excited about you having puppies again!! I'm sorry you have been so neglected since B was born. I'll try to be better about that.

Dear Pandora - Thank you for getting me through the day at work. You're awesome.

Dear Summer - I don't care how hot you are, I love you. I love your pool days and your blue skies. I even love your showers that make the grass grow. Sometimes I wish you were here forever, but I know when August gets here I will be ready for the only other season in Southeast Texas: 'not quite as hot as summer'.

Dear Aunt Susan & Family - That's right, you get a shout-out on my blog (: Thank you for coming to visit. I always look forward to spending time with all of you and get so sad when you leave. How about you move to Texas? Puhhh-leeeaaase?! Love you :)

How about you click over to everyone else's Friday Letters?

Happy Friday everyone!

Wednesday Love :)

So I had extra time yesterday and I wanted to blog... and I couldn't think of anything to write about! UGH! But today is Wednesday (YAY! half way through the week!), so I don't have to come up with anything witty to say. Thank the good Lord for link-ups :)

This week I'm loving...

...my new big desk at work. And while we're talking about work, I'm also loving my new office-mate. She's so sweet :)

...S'more pop-tarts! They have been my breakfast everyday this week and they are sooooo good!

...Law & Order: SVU. This show is my 'go-to' when I don't have anything else to watch on Netflix. Love it!!

...watching B push her walker around. Seeing her walk (even if she can't do it on her own yet) is just so fun! (please stay away all you nay-sayer 'your world is going to end when she is walking' people. I don't want to hear it. I just want to enjoy this.)

...that I finally went to a concert this past weekend! It was much needed fun :)

...my husband and my girl. Of course!

Happy Wednesday! Don't forget to visit This Kind of Love to see what everyone else is loving this week!

I'm Alive!!

I know I've been a terrible blogger lately. I guess I can't even say that, because that would at least mean that I was some kind of blogger. The last month or so, I haven't been a blogger at all! :( It makes me sad. But, here is my situation. In my house we have one TV & one computer. These two devices share one screen (the TV). Since I'm pretty sure my husband doesn't want to sit in the living room every night and watch me blog... I'm left with my work computer. And since tax season is over, I haven't been getting to work early enough to blog before I start my day.

I am going to fix this problem soon! (hopefully...)

ANYWAYS!

Last week I went on a mission trip with my church to Oklahoma City. We met some great kids, helped out some wonderful churches, & had a blast while we were doing it!! Here's a few pictures to recap:

We had two flat tires on our way. Oops!

The dance team at Faithworks Baptist Church. These 4 are sisters and they are so sweet :)

B riding on her Uncle Bryce's back while we were inviting people to the block party.

We had to improvise with naptime all week :) It worked out, tho!

Our first block party. At Faithworks Baptist Church. It's hard to see, but we had a bounce house, cotton candy, popcorn, snocones, carnival games, links, hotdogs & boudain. YUM!

B with her favorite babysitter of the week :)

Part of our crew making lunches to hand out. We worked in a low income apartment complex handing out lunches to kids who probably don't have anything to eat at home.

VBS at Britton Baptist Church. This is the 4-5 year old class. It was slightly chaotic and required a lot of help from our group. That is my sister standing in the corner and my dad sitting against the wall :)

B enjoying some sweet Texas Louisiana watermelon.

B made a new friend, Mason. Actually, she just took away his paci like a big bully... but whatever!

And finally, B enjoying some Daddy time this weekend. I know she missed her Daddy!!

I know that was a choppy recap of our trip, but I feel like I could write a book about it! So I'm trying to limit myself.

Well it's 8, which means it is time for me to get to work! Hopefully I can get back to a regular blogging schedule. I hope you enjoy the pictures :)

10 Things About The Weekend: 2

Sorry, I'm a little late this week :( Yesterday was a crazy day filled with office moving (not mine, unfortuneately) & a crazy little girl.

So here's what happened this weekend...

1. I was planning on seeing The Avengers with my husband & some friends.  That plan fell through, but I ended up having a great time with some girlfriends at Cheddars.

2. I slept in on Saturday and had a lazy morning.

3. B & I attended a pool party for my cousins' birthdays (a brother & sister, one turned 17 & one turned 1!). It was a beautiful day.

4. B loved the water. I'm so glad. I have always loved hanging out in the swimming pool for hours, so it looks like I'll have a side-kick who will be more than willing to join me!!

5. I got a Route 44 Cherry Vanilla Coke from Sonic on my way home from the party, but they put too much cherry flavoring so I barely got to drink any :(

6. I also stopped at the dollar store for some junk food & nail polish to try to brighten the lonely night ahead of me, but (as you'll see in #8) that didn't go over so well.

7. I watched a ridiculous amount of Desperate Housewives. I finished the final season. It was sooooo good!! I'm so glad that I decided to start watching that show a couple years ago.

8. I tried to be a 'big girl' and stay home by myself on Saturday night while R was at the deer lease. I was not successful. By the time I finally went to bed (around 1 am) I had myself so scared and skittish that I tossed and turned all night, worried about every little sound. I will definitely be going to stay with my parents the next time he leaves me.

9. Because of my sleepless night, B & I stayed home from church on Sunday morning.

10. Once I finished Desperate Housewives, I returned to One Tree Hill (I know, I'm a trash TV addict. I can't help it).  I started watching OTH about a month ago and I'm completely sucked in. I think I'm on Season 6. Thank you Jesus for Netflix!!

That's all! Happy Tuesday, everyone :)

10 Things About The Weekend

So I thought today I would write a '10 Things About The Weekend' post to sort of consolidate my weekend. I'm slightly copying Amy at Crazy Random Happenstances and her '10 Things Before The Weekend' posts. Imitation is a form of flattery, right? :)

So here goes...

10 Things About The Weekend

1. We were supposed to spend Friday night & Saturday at the beach, but the forecast showed thunderstorms so we stayed home. I was regretting that on Saturday morning, but we'll go another weekend. Hopefully we'll go LOTS of weekends this summer :)

2. I got to sleep in until 9 on Saturday morning. It was glorious. I even got to wake up slowly and lay in bed & read a book until B woke up. I started the 3rd book in the Narnia series.

3. R & I used some pretty awesome teamwork to get the chores done on Saturday morning. We did a million six loads of laundry. A load of dishes. I cleaned the bathroom. R vaccumed. We both picked up clutter.

4. I went to a knitting circle of sorts. A friend from highschool recently opened a coffee shop and a group of us met up there for a couple hours. It was so good to hang out with some other girls. So, so good! Thank you, Leslie!!! There were 4 kids under 18 months there, so needless to say there wasn't much knitting/crocheting going on. Next time I will be childless so I can get more of my project done and do less child wrangling!

5. R met surprised me as I was leaving the knitting group and gave me my Mother's Day gift, an iPhone!! HOORAY! I'm already loving it and I haven't even scratched the surface of everything it is capable of.

6. R & I hung out with some friends for the rest of Saturday afternoon at Larry's Old Time Trade Days & dinner at Papa's Place. Saturday was just what I needed, some quality time with friends.

7. My poor baby was constipated on Saturday night and R had to give her an enema. It was definitely a new experience, being so worried about my child pooping. By the end of the whole ordeal I was laughing at myself. But during, B was screaming in agony and it was just not pretty. The night ended with me cleaning poop out of the bathtub. Awesome.

8. B was dedicated at church on Sunday morning. We are so blessed to have a wonderful church family to come beside us to help raise B. It takes a village :)

9. My dad preached a pretty political sermon after said dedication. I'm glad he did because it helped me to reconcile what I know to be right with how I was feeling about the whole issue. The government does not have the right to change something that is spiritual, biblical. I wish everyone could have heard his sermon. Then again, the same people I know who would be accusing me of being closed-minded would probably be so closed-minded to hearing 'our' side that they wouldn't even listen.

10. This morning I woke up 20 minutes earlier than usual and I was able to make the bed, make my lunch, put on make-up and have a quiet time! Amazing what 20 minutes can do.

11. Okay so I had more than 10... We celebrated Mother's Day at my parents' house after church yesterday. I love getting together with my extended family. Even when there are only a fraction of us there we're still a big group!! Lots of people, tons of good food and sunshine made for a perfect afternoon. My first Mother's Day has set a pretty high standard!!

That's all for today :)

Happy Monday!!

WILW: 7

I just wanted to say that this link-up has really gotten me thinking (most days) about what I am currently loving about life.  That wasn't something that I did enough before I found this, so I am really happy to participate every week.  It really helps me to have a better lookout on life!

With all of that said, lets get to the good stuff!!

This week I am loving...

...that we (R, B & I) are planning on spending this weekend at the beach with some friends. I absolutely love the beach.  Especially when it's the kind of beach trip that involves lots of time sitting on a porch in the sunshine and not so much time getting sandy & sticky in the (usually disgusting) gulf.

...the fact that my phone upgrade is just around the corner. I can't wait to join the iPhone club!!

...the rain. That's right, I'm one of those people. I love rainy days. I love them more when I get to stay at home snuggled under a blanket, but I love them when I have to go to work, too.

...Dave Matthews Band. I had been stuck on my Kenny Chesney station on Pandora, but I switched to my DMB station sometime last week. I think I had almost forgotten how much I love DMB. They make my days so much better.

...and of course, my other half & my adorable girl. Can't forget them!!

What are you loving this week? Why don't you link-up with This Kind of Love :)

Happy Wednesday!

Nine Months!!

I sat down to start this post 15 minutes ago. I can't come up with anything to say because the fact that you are 9 months old today has completely caught me off guard. 9 months?! How can that be?? I still remember my first ultrasound, the day we found out you were a girl, laying in the hospital bed staring at you. All of that seems like just yesterday and now you are nine months old. I don't want to believe it!

You are crawling like a champ. You move so fast I usually can't keep up. I know you'll be walking soon. You are not content to sit still on the floor and play with your toys. In this respect, you are all your daddy. Always on the move. It's a great big world out there and you need to see and touch every little bit of it.

And your laugh. Ohhh your laugh. When you were younger we couldn't get a smile or a laugh out of you for anything. We would tickle and make goofy noises/faces for hours and you would just give us this blank stare. Every now and then we would get a little giggle. But now you have these big belly laughs. Daddy and I know all of your tickle spots, and you love to be surprised and help upside down. You are ticklish like your momma :)

I haven't found a food that you won't eat.  You can feed yourself finger-foods really well, you hardly miss your mouth anymore :) Spoon feeding you has become more of a challenge because you like to wave your hands and hit the spoon (I won't lie, this is quite frustrating and I'm not handling it all that well). Your Aunt Sarah taught me a trick to give you something to hold, and that has worked wonders!!

You love to go on walks/jogs in the stroller. You coo the whole time and I can't help but smile.

You got your top two teeth this month. I think it was a little more difficult than getting your first 2 teeth, but as teething goes I guess it wasn't so bad. I'm still waiting for your hair to come in!! Ha!

Every day you look more like a big girl and less like my little baby girl. You are so very beautiful. I promise not to dress you in any outfits that will embarrass you in 15-20 years (who am I kidding? YEA RIGHT!).

You are so very, very loved Brylee Paige. Don't you ever forget it!! Happy 9 Month Birthday :)

P.S. - Don't want to forget to mention that there is a giveaway going on over at Fantastically Average. You should definitely head over there and check it out!!

Wednesday already??

It sure seems like Wednesday sneaks up on me every week. Where are the days going??

Here we go with my weekly link up with This Kind of Love!

This week I am loving...

*...the fact that I have stuck with Couch to 5K (so far!). I jogged last Wednesday, Sunday & yesterday. 3 days in 1 week!!

*...my current guilty pleasure, One Tree Hill. Ohhhhh the drama! Robert makes me feel silly for watching it, but it makes me laugh out loud and bawl my eyes out so he can think what he wants! It's just sooooo good!

*...the weather!! I absolutely love the sunshine!! Brylee & I are totally going to spend some time in the hammock this weekend. And if anyone has a pool they would like to share with us... Ha!

*...my man & my babygirl! Last but certainly not least :)

What are you loving this week?

Monday Ramblings

I feel like I need to get this out there in the blogosphere. I am not a morning person. At all. I basically hate mornings. And I don't try to hide it. Along these same lines, I'm not a Monday person. More like I'm not an 'end of the weekend' person. Even though I've been working since I was a teenager, I still struggle with having to go to work every week. Mondays are always my wake-up calls to the real world. So here I am, sitting at my desk wishing for my weekend back.

Maybe recaping will be a good way to get it back...

Friday was beach day. B & I spent a day at the beach with our sweet friends from church. I guess saying 'beach' is slightly misleading since there were neither sand nor salt water included in our trip. My friend's cabin is on the Bay side and the temperature was slightly too cool to venture down to the water, so we relaxed on her awesome deck and soaked up some rays. I tried to do a little fishing while Brylee was asleep, but as soon as I caught my first perch she woke up!! Spending a lazy day in the sunshine was just what I needed!

We had to head home a little earlier than planned because there was a storm coming in and I didn't want to drive home in the rain. It worked out well, though, because we were able to make it to my Nanna's (77th!) birthday dinner at Black Eyed Pea.

On Saturday I stayed at home for the morning & afternoon with B. Robert was taking a concealed handgun license class (just what he needs...) for the day so I got in some much needed snuggles and cleaned the house up some. My babysitter came over at about 3 o'clock and I got ready to head out to see the Astro's game! There were 8 of us altogether that went. We got to the game a little late and left a little early, but I had a good time (and that's what matters, right? I mean, I was the birthday girl after all! ha!). We got home earlier than I expected, around 10.

Sunday was a typical Sunday...we went to church in the morning and spent the afternoon at my parents house celebrating my birthday. My mom made me a huge homecooked meal (at my request since I've hardly had anything homecooked the last few months). We had chicken sopa, salad, fruit salad, corn on the cob & cheesy garlic bread. It was so good! I opened my gifts & then spent the rest of the afternoon sitting on the porch swing enjoying the pretty weather.

I went to church Sunday evening and visited while the athletic people played volleyball.

OH! I can't forget about the part where I went running on Wednesday & Sunday. I've been so sore, but at least I did it, right? I'm still not able to do the full amount of running time. I figure I'll keep doing the week 1 workout until I can actually do it and then move on to week 2. I actually ran on my own road last night and it wasn't too bad.

I know this post is a lot of words and no pictures, but I'll try to get pictures up later this week. And also do a more in-depth post about my ventures in jogging.

Hope you're having a great Monday!!

Wednesday Lovin' & Running Dreams

If you read my blog and know me at all, you probably know that I'm one of the least athletic people ever. Ever. If you just happened to run into me somewhere and didn't know me, you might think differently. Fortunately for me, God happened to make me skinny. He also gave me a small appetite and a fast metabolism. We'll just see if those things stick around into middle age.

I've been wanting to add some sort of exercise to my life for a few years, though. I figure it would be better to do it now and get in the routine just in case its needed later on in my life. I'm being proactive! Ha! And its never a bad thing to add exercise to your lifestyle, yannow?

So I've heard a lot of good things about the Couch to 5K & Couch to 10K programs and thought I would give them a try. I had intentions of starting yesterday, but Brylee is a little under the weather and I didn't want to push my luck with her yesterday.  So hopefully today I can get outside and do Day 1, Week 1 of the Couch to 5K program.

One thing that has really held me back from exercising at all is that we live in the middle of nowhere on a back country road. I can't just jump out my front door and go for a jog. I would run the risk of getting hit by a car since we don't even have shoulders on our road, let alone sidewalks! In order to go jog/run, I will have to load myself and B into the car and drive to a place about 5 miles away that has a track to run on, unload, do my workout, load back up and drive home, & finally unload at home. There's a lot more to it!!

BUT, I'm going to do it. I am. And when I finish the program in 6 weeks, I'm going to run a 5K. And then I'm going to buy myself lots of sweet running gear!

Hold me to it :)

With all of that said, now its time for...

I really love this link-up with This Kind of Love!

This Wednesday I am loving...

...All of my free time! Enough said.

...Planning our anniversary trip to the East Texas Hill Country this summer. It may be months away, but I'm excited anyway!!

...That it is my birthday this weekend!! Yes, I'm one of those people who still gets excited about my birthday. I'll be a quarter of a century!

...The thought of spending all day Friday at the beach with a sweet friend and my girl.
