10 Things About The Weekend: 2

Sorry, I'm a little late this week :( Yesterday was a crazy day filled with office moving (not mine, unfortuneately) & a crazy little girl.

So here's what happened this weekend...

1. I was planning on seeing The Avengers with my husband & some friends.  That plan fell through, but I ended up having a great time with some girlfriends at Cheddars.

2. I slept in on Saturday and had a lazy morning.

3. B & I attended a pool party for my cousins' birthdays (a brother & sister, one turned 17 & one turned 1!). It was a beautiful day.

4. B loved the water. I'm so glad. I have always loved hanging out in the swimming pool for hours, so it looks like I'll have a side-kick who will be more than willing to join me!!

5. I got a Route 44 Cherry Vanilla Coke from Sonic on my way home from the party, but they put too much cherry flavoring so I barely got to drink any :(

6. I also stopped at the dollar store for some junk food & nail polish to try to brighten the lonely night ahead of me, but (as you'll see in #8) that didn't go over so well.

7. I watched a ridiculous amount of Desperate Housewives. I finished the final season. It was sooooo good!! I'm so glad that I decided to start watching that show a couple years ago.

8. I tried to be a 'big girl' and stay home by myself on Saturday night while R was at the deer lease. I was not successful. By the time I finally went to bed (around 1 am) I had myself so scared and skittish that I tossed and turned all night, worried about every little sound. I will definitely be going to stay with my parents the next time he leaves me.

9. Because of my sleepless night, B & I stayed home from church on Sunday morning.

10. Once I finished Desperate Housewives, I returned to One Tree Hill (I know, I'm a trash TV addict. I can't help it).  I started watching OTH about a month ago and I'm completely sucked in. I think I'm on Season 6. Thank you Jesus for Netflix!!

That's all! Happy Tuesday, everyone :)

10 Things About The Weekend

So I thought today I would write a '10 Things About The Weekend' post to sort of consolidate my weekend. I'm slightly copying Amy at Crazy Random Happenstances and her '10 Things Before The Weekend' posts. Imitation is a form of flattery, right? :)

So here goes...

10 Things About The Weekend

1. We were supposed to spend Friday night & Saturday at the beach, but the forecast showed thunderstorms so we stayed home. I was regretting that on Saturday morning, but we'll go another weekend. Hopefully we'll go LOTS of weekends this summer :)

2. I got to sleep in until 9 on Saturday morning. It was glorious. I even got to wake up slowly and lay in bed & read a book until B woke up. I started the 3rd book in the Narnia series.

3. R & I used some pretty awesome teamwork to get the chores done on Saturday morning. We did a million six loads of laundry. A load of dishes. I cleaned the bathroom. R vaccumed. We both picked up clutter.

4. I went to a knitting circle of sorts. A friend from highschool recently opened a coffee shop and a group of us met up there for a couple hours. It was so good to hang out with some other girls. So, so good! Thank you, Leslie!!! There were 4 kids under 18 months there, so needless to say there wasn't much knitting/crocheting going on. Next time I will be childless so I can get more of my project done and do less child wrangling!

5. R met surprised me as I was leaving the knitting group and gave me my Mother's Day gift, an iPhone!! HOORAY! I'm already loving it and I haven't even scratched the surface of everything it is capable of.

6. R & I hung out with some friends for the rest of Saturday afternoon at Larry's Old Time Trade Days & dinner at Papa's Place. Saturday was just what I needed, some quality time with friends.

7. My poor baby was constipated on Saturday night and R had to give her an enema. It was definitely a new experience, being so worried about my child pooping. By the end of the whole ordeal I was laughing at myself. But during, B was screaming in agony and it was just not pretty. The night ended with me cleaning poop out of the bathtub. Awesome.

8. B was dedicated at church on Sunday morning. We are so blessed to have a wonderful church family to come beside us to help raise B. It takes a village :)

9. My dad preached a pretty political sermon after said dedication. I'm glad he did because it helped me to reconcile what I know to be right with how I was feeling about the whole issue. The government does not have the right to change something that is spiritual, biblical. I wish everyone could have heard his sermon. Then again, the same people I know who would be accusing me of being closed-minded would probably be so closed-minded to hearing 'our' side that they wouldn't even listen.

10. This morning I woke up 20 minutes earlier than usual and I was able to make the bed, make my lunch, put on make-up and have a quiet time! Amazing what 20 minutes can do.

11. Okay so I had more than 10... We celebrated Mother's Day at my parents' house after church yesterday. I love getting together with my extended family. Even when there are only a fraction of us there we're still a big group!! Lots of people, tons of good food and sunshine made for a perfect afternoon. My first Mother's Day has set a pretty high standard!!

That's all for today :)

Happy Monday!!

WILW: 7

I just wanted to say that this link-up has really gotten me thinking (most days) about what I am currently loving about life.  That wasn't something that I did enough before I found this, so I am really happy to participate every week.  It really helps me to have a better lookout on life!

With all of that said, lets get to the good stuff!!

This week I am loving...

...that we (R, B & I) are planning on spending this weekend at the beach with some friends. I absolutely love the beach.  Especially when it's the kind of beach trip that involves lots of time sitting on a porch in the sunshine and not so much time getting sandy & sticky in the (usually disgusting) gulf.

...the fact that my phone upgrade is just around the corner. I can't wait to join the iPhone club!!

...the rain. That's right, I'm one of those people. I love rainy days. I love them more when I get to stay at home snuggled under a blanket, but I love them when I have to go to work, too.

...Dave Matthews Band. I had been stuck on my Kenny Chesney station on Pandora, but I switched to my DMB station sometime last week. I think I had almost forgotten how much I love DMB. They make my days so much better.

...and of course, my other half & my adorable girl. Can't forget them!!

What are you loving this week? Why don't you link-up with This Kind of Love :)

Happy Wednesday!

Nine Months!!

I sat down to start this post 15 minutes ago. I can't come up with anything to say because the fact that you are 9 months old today has completely caught me off guard. 9 months?! How can that be?? I still remember my first ultrasound, the day we found out you were a girl, laying in the hospital bed staring at you. All of that seems like just yesterday and now you are nine months old. I don't want to believe it!

You are crawling like a champ. You move so fast I usually can't keep up. I know you'll be walking soon. You are not content to sit still on the floor and play with your toys. In this respect, you are all your daddy. Always on the move. It's a great big world out there and you need to see and touch every little bit of it.

And your laugh. Ohhh your laugh. When you were younger we couldn't get a smile or a laugh out of you for anything. We would tickle and make goofy noises/faces for hours and you would just give us this blank stare. Every now and then we would get a little giggle. But now you have these big belly laughs. Daddy and I know all of your tickle spots, and you love to be surprised and help upside down. You are ticklish like your momma :)

I haven't found a food that you won't eat.  You can feed yourself finger-foods really well, you hardly miss your mouth anymore :) Spoon feeding you has become more of a challenge because you like to wave your hands and hit the spoon (I won't lie, this is quite frustrating and I'm not handling it all that well). Your Aunt Sarah taught me a trick to give you something to hold, and that has worked wonders!!

You love to go on walks/jogs in the stroller. You coo the whole time and I can't help but smile.

You got your top two teeth this month. I think it was a little more difficult than getting your first 2 teeth, but as teething goes I guess it wasn't so bad. I'm still waiting for your hair to come in!! Ha!

Every day you look more like a big girl and less like my little baby girl. You are so very beautiful. I promise not to dress you in any outfits that will embarrass you in 15-20 years (who am I kidding? YEA RIGHT!).

You are so very, very loved Brylee Paige. Don't you ever forget it!! Happy 9 Month Birthday :)

P.S. - Don't want to forget to mention that there is a giveaway going on over at Fantastically Average. You should definitely head over there and check it out!!
