2 Year Veteran

Good news, y'all! You won't have to hear anything else about tax season once this post is over! (until January 2013, that is :) )

I know the deadline is officially tomorrow, but I filed my last extension about an hour ago. Our office is closing at noon tomorrow. Have I ever mentioned how much I love the men I work for? We're not into stressing ourselves out and working until dark-thirty trying to get returns out. We get what we can done, we extend the rest and we skip as much stress as possible.

They also treat us to a 3-day weekend the weekend after tax day. So I will also be off on Friday!

I am so excited about having more time in my schedule. More time to spend with my girl (and guy!). More time to knit & crochet fun projects (maybe I can sell some things soon. or do a giveaway!) More time to read some good books.

I'm going to create new page here on the 'ole blog with a list of the books I want to read so I can cross them off as I go, and maybe even give some books reviews for those of you who enjoy a good book as much as I do :)

With all my newfound time off, I'm looking forward to some of this...

A little of this...

(we'll just pretend this is what our beach looks like...)

Hopefully a whole LOT of this...

And maybe some of this, since I want to run a few 5Ks this summer (this from the girl who can't jog to the mailbox!)

None of those are pictures of me, by the way. All of them were found on google images :)

Happy Monday, everyone!

Moving Right Along

I have got to get better about blogging between Wednesdays! At least this link-up helps me to blog once a week.

Once again, I'm a little lacking on the 'love' front today. More this week than any week before. I literally cannot come up with anything I'm loving other than Brylee & Robert. And that's just sad! Lets see if I can come up with something...anything!!

This week I am loving...

That my sweet husband brought me a giant snocone at work yesterday. I have been begging him to bring one to me at work for a few weeks now. He finally gave in yesterday and BOY did he deliver! It was 32 oz of pure awesome.

That I have decided to go see the Houston Astros play next weekend for my 25th birthday. I have been struggling with what to do for my birthday. I love celebrating my birthday, but now that I am an accountant it always falls the weekend after tax season. The good part of that is that we always get a 3 day weekend that weekend. The bad part is that my house is pretty much a disaster since I have hardly been home at all for the past 2 1/2 months. So I struggle with whether I should be lazy all weekend or do something for my birthday.

My sweet, sweet little girl. The (second) best thing that has ever happened to me. Always & forever!

My life has been absolutely consumed in tax season. We have 6 days until April 17th, but only 4 of them are work days. I'm actually in pretty good shape as far as returns go, but that really doesn't make the approaching deadline any less stressful. Pretty much everyone in my office is at their breaking point. You can feel the tension! And I work in an office that is fairly laid back. I would hate to be in one of those high stress big-wig firms. I wouldn't make it!!

By this time next week I will be DONE with tax season #2!

What are you loving this week?

What I'm Loving Wednesday: 3

It's that time again. Time to re-cap what I'm loving this week. I want to be completely honest here and let y'all know that this is getting increasingly harder the closer we get to April 15th 17th. I'm really not loving a whole lot right now and it was difficult to come up with more than 'I love my daughter' & 'I love my husband'. But here goes...

I'm loving this crochet blanket that I was planning on finishing on our 'roadtrip' this weekend. That trip needs its own post, but lets just say I was way too tired to do anything other than stare out of the window for the umpteen hours we were in the car. Anyway, I'm pretty excited about the blanket! It is my first crochet blanket and I love the pattern! I can't wait to finish it!

I'm loving the Easter Basket I bought for Brylee yesterday at Target! I let her play with the stuffed chick last night and she loved it :) She kept rubbing her face in the soft fur(?). So sweet!

And of course...

I'm loving my precious girl. Only 11 more work days until I get some REAL quality time with this chick!

Oh yea! I'm loving the signature I figured out how to make for my blog posts! It's nothing fancy, but I'm excited about it anyway :)

What are you loving this Wednesday? Head on over to This Kind of Love and see what everyone else is loving!

My 101 in 1001

The Challenge:

Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple challenges such as New Year's resolutions or a 'Bucket List'. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips, study semesters, or outdoor activities.

Start Date: April 1, 2012

Bathtime

Brylee had her first bubble bath last night!! Look how friggin cute she is :)

She thought the bubbles were awesome and kept trying to eat them. The bath was a short one because I was worried she would eat too many bubbles and get sick.

After her bath I wanted to try to get a cute wrapped-up-in-hooded-towel picture. To say that I failed would be a huge understatement. You should have seen me trying to get this girl to sit still for a picture! It was chaos. My child does not sit still. Ever. Here are just a few of the resulting pictures...

I realize that I was just using my cellphone camera so they wouldn't be perfect, but the child moves so much they were so blurry! And then she said peace-out mom, I'm gettin outta this place!

Oh well, we had fun :) I just laughed and laughed.

P.S.- please excuse the messy room. I'm not the best housekeeper in ideal conditions. Add in my work hours right now and we'll just say I'm not planning on having visitors anytime soon!!

Friends and Fairs

Lets all stop and take a second to celebrate the fact that I only have SIXTEEN working days of tax season left! YAAAAAAYYYY!!!

Okay, now that we have that out of the way... :)

This weekend was absolutely beautiful weather wise. It could not have been more gorgeous! I just hope the weather is this nice in a few weeks when I will actually get to enjoy it.

Once I got off of work on Saturday I had dinner with one of my closest friends who was in town. It's always good to get to see my favorite other Lindsey :) We had a good time at dinner with B and the hubs and then headed back to her parents' house for a little visit.

Brylee had fun trying out a lemon.

On Sunday I made it to Sunday School and the service. I was a good little girl. I think I will make it through this busy season only missing one Sunday, and I'm okay with that. Sometimes you just need a day to stay in your PJs and rest so your head doesn't explode.

After church B and I went to the South Texas State Fair with my mom & my Nanna. We ate some good food and looked around the exhibition hall. I got a little sun on my face and Brylee did great riding around in the stroller!! I'm so thankful to have such a content baby. She has made being a first-time-mom a breeze. I love her so much :)

Here are some pictures of Brylee's first trip to the fair!

I know she looks upset here, but it's just because I was giving her bites of my chocolate covered cheesecake and she wanted another bite but I wanted a picture! She really was happy :)

See? There's my happy baby!! We were on our way out and Nanna wanted to stop and watch the belly dancers. Why? I have no idea...

By the time I got home she was worn out!! She took a nice long nap on Sunday afternoon.

Hope you all had a great weekend, too! Happy Monday!

Wednesday!!

It's that time of the week again!

This week I am loving...

My sweet girl. Always & Forever!

The Caramel Iced Coffee from Dunkin' Donuts I treated myself to this morning. YUM! I definitely needed a pick-me-up!
My Kenny Chesney Pandora radio station. I'm usually streaming 89.3 KSBJ at work, but my country music has really been hittin the spot lately :)

What are you loving today??
